It aims to supplement and build on the current knowledge of consultants, radiographers and physicists. The conference will allow attendees to understand the key components including, the optimisation of radiotherapy technology into clinical evidence based practice, cranial and body radiosurgery, 4D radiotherapy, VMAT/RapiArc, IMRT, the use of DIBH and amplitude gating, gated VMAT/RapidArc, clinical trials and protons. This Radiotherapy Study Day is taking place on 17 November 2011 with 13 speakers presenting throughout the day.

The London Clinic is the UK’s largest independently owned non profit hospital. Located in the heart of London's medical community on Harley Street, we have over 270 beds, a 24 hour consultant-led intensive care unit (ICU), 12 operating theatres including dedicated endoscopy suites and a day surgery unit in addition to three radiotherapy suites including the CyberKnife® Robotic Radiosurgery System and Trilogy® Systems with Gated RapidArc™.

Practical and Theoretical Radiotherapy Physics Course

Course Summary

This course provides the necessary practical and theoretical background for the support of a radiotherapy physics service within radiotherapy. It is aimed primarily at recently qualified radiotherapy physicists, but should also be invaluable to post-graduate students, researchers, clinical oncologists, engineers, radiographers, manufacturers’ representatives and in fact, anyone needing to deepen or update their understanding of this rapidly evolving field.
The faculty is composed of physicists, clinicians and radiographers, many of whom are internationally renowned for their expertise. Saturday workshops and demonstrations make full use of the facilities of the Radiotherapy and Physics Departments of the Royal Marsden Foundation Trust. The course is reviewed annually to reflect changes in practice and technology.

Register for the 3rd European Workshop on Stereotactiv Radiation Therapy and Whole Body Radiosurgery at www.radiosurgery2010.com/brusselsworkshop

The 3rd European Workshop on Stereotactic Radiation Therapy and Whole Body Radiosurgery will take place in Brussels on May 28 & 29. It brings together leading experts from Europe and the United States to share their knowledge and experience and to lead discussions on future perspectives. This exciting meeting drives the uptake of SBRT and Robotic Radiosurgery, providing a greater understanding of one of the most significant innovations in high-precision radiotherapy of this last decade.

This meeting provides great opportunities for learning more about the leading edge treatment options and for networking. The Scientific Committee chaired by Prof. Peter Levendag (Erasmus MC- Daniel den Hoed Cancer Centre, Rotterdam), Prof. Vincent Grégoire (Université Catholique de Louvain, Brussels) and Prof. Eric Lartigau (Centre Oscar Lambret, Lille) has put together a programme mixing plenary lectures focusing on the state-of-the-art treatments on spine, prostate, lung, liver and head and neck tumours, case studies presentations by experts in their fields and interactive discussion with the speakers. The aims of this year workshop are to provide a comprehensive overview on the following principles:

• Beyond frame-based systems for CNS

• SBRT for Organs Moving with Respiration

• Management of Oligometastatic Patients
