Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

Therapy Radiographer: Band 5 & 6

We want you to join our forward thinking, dynamic team here in the beautiful ‘granite city’ of North East Scotland. Our continual aim is to improve the quality of our patient care through technological innovation and the development of all our staff.

Our Department has:

  •  3 Varian Linacs
  •  Phillips wide bore CT Simulator
  •  Nucletron Simulator with CT capacity
  •  ARIA Record and Verify system
  •  Radiographer-led Breast Simulation sessions
  •  Radiographer-led Portal Image Review with a well established ‘on-line’ protocol for all treatment sites and a specialist ‘offline’ image review team
  •  Radiographer-led ‘On-Treatment’ Review Clinics, with a specialist post involved in long term follow-up of breast cancer patients

We can offer:

  •  An exciting phase of change within the department as we develop our vision for Radiotherapy within Aberdeen’s brand new Cancer Centre, the first phase of which is scheduled to go clinical in 2012.
  •  A supportive, collaborative working environment.
  •  Protected CPD time
  •  Funded MSc study

Since time away from work is just as important Aberdeen can offer:

  •  A very sociable city with the usual good mix of city things to do: pubs, clubs, theatre, concerts and music venues, museums, cinemas, restaurants, art gallery, etc.
  •  Aberdeen has its own long sandy beach, surf club, and a specialist climbing wall nearby.
  •  Union Square; one of the largest shopping and entertainment centres in Scotland, just opened in 2009 with over 60 stores, restaurants, and a 10 screen cinema.
  •  The Cairngorm mountain range is approximately 2 hours drive away providing stunning scenery, great hiking, biking, and skiing.
  •  Good transport links; our international airport is a 15 minute drive away.
