The first new CPUK Radiotherapy treatment centre will open in August 2009 at the Spire Porstmouth Hospital.Spire Portsmouth Hospital is situated in woodland grounds in Bartons Road, Havant, just off the B2148 - the Rowlands Castle to Emsworth road. Havant is close to Portsmouth on the south coast of England and so an ideal location for those people looking to live and work close to the seaside!

Once a leading leather, glove and parchment-making centre, Havant evolved around an ancient network of springs and an old Roman crossroads which linked Arundel to Winchester and Hayling Island to Rowlands Castle.

Havant is now a thriving market town, characterised by its fine Georgian buildings and narrow weaving footpaths called 'Twittens'. Perfect for relaxed shopping, with an interesting blend of specialist retailers and major high street names.

Havant Museum houses one of the country's finest firearm collections, and among its many attractions you can discover the link between the Treaty of Versailles and Havant, unearth the location of Roman remains and find out why the borough has such an unusual name.

Havant Arts Centre is an innovative, small-scale theatre presenting music, comedy and films. Workshops are held for children during holiday times.

For the young mindset, there is Sega Park in the Meridian Centre and the Havant Leisure Centre with its pool and also some thoroughly modern recreational facilities in Havant Park.

Visit the hidden Gazebo Garden in East street, Havant's secret garden can be found near the back of the Bear Hotel.

There are many pubs, restaurants and coffee shops in the town and there is a street market on Tuesdays. Street arts can be seen in the Borough during most weekends in Havant town centre, for which there is no charge. Just Enjoy.

The Borough of Havant is where the countryside meets the seashore, where there are cool shady forests or coastal paths with sea breezes to explore. Forest and woodland walking trails, coastal walks, nature reserves, country parks as well as all the watersports traditionally associated with the area.

a geographical area including south-east Hampshire, Portsea Island and the Isle of Wight.

HARBOUR TOURS

A Harbour Tour takes 45 minutes and enables visitors to enjoy fascinating views across the harbour whilst listening to a lively commentary.

VICTORIA PARK

A haven of green tucked away in the city centre adjacent to the Guildhall and Civic Offices. It covers 15 acres of grassed area, well-planted flower borders and trees. In the centre of the park is an area containing an aviary with peacocks, parrots and other exotic birds, in addition to another area with rabbits and guinea pigs that children can feed.

The New Theatre Royal is Portsmouth's friendliest arts venue in the heart of the city, bringing you cutting edge dance, theatre, drama, music, children's shows and comedy.

Staunton Country Park(1 Mile)

At Staunton Country Park there is something for all the family, including farm, follies and fabulous glasshouses.

Southsea Castle (7 Miles)


Southsea Castle was built by Henry VIII between 1544 and 1545 to protect Portsmouth against possible French invasion. Its revolutionary design provided for the most efficient use of guns in attack or defence.

Fishbourne Roman Palace (7 Miles)


Fishbourne's impressive remains came to light in 1960 when a new water main cut into the previously unsuspected foundations and mosaics.

Pallant House Gallery (9 Miles)

A contemporary wing adjoining a Queen Anne townhouse holding one of the best collections of Modern British art in the country.

Weald and Downland Open Air Museum (10 Miles)

At the heart of the Museum's collection are over 45 historic homes, farms and workplaces that have been rescued from destruction and restored as far as possible to their original form.

Goodwood Racecourse (10 Miles)
Horseracing was started at the Goodwood Racecourse by the 3rd Duke of Richmond in 1802. It continues to stage twenty-two days of the finest racing in the sporting calendar as well as being a firm diary date in the English Summer Season.

West Dean Gardens (11 Miles)

A place of tranquility and beauty in the rolling South Downs.

Cass Sculpture Foundation(11 Miles)

The Foundation's ever-changing display of sculpture, including over 60 large works, is now recognised around the world.

Bembridge Windmill (13 Miles)

Built around 1700, Bembridge Windmill is the only surviving windmill on the Isle of Wight and has much of its original machinery intact.

Denmans Garden (14 Miles)

The planting is increasingly in the newer, wilder way, it is this interaction between garden and site, between plants native and introduced, and how things

grow in the wild that we are exploring at Denmans.
